What exactly is Wombo? Their music makes me tap my feet and want to hum along to the catchy vocal melodies, but I wouldn’t label them as another cut-and-paste indie pop troupe. The trio, led by the mesmerizing voice of Sydney Chadwick has been making what I’m going to call “bizarro pop” for a few years now. Thankfully, the band has recently returned with a new single called “Dreamsickle”.
The song, like the title suggests plays like an audible sugar high after quickly woofing down a musical popsicle from a magical ice cream truck in the sky. “Dreamsickle” serves as the first single from Wombo’s upcoming EP Keesh Mountain which releases digitally on May 28 with vinyl and cassette releases to follow in July.
