As any cinema fanatic knows, the horror genre is pretty diverse populated with all sorts of divisions which can understandably get confusing for innocent bystanders that don’t frequent this side of the video store. Now that we are knee deep in the fog of Halloween season, people as usual are magnetized toward the horror aisle, many of which aren’t sure which direction to start with. To help with this annual predicament, director Mike Thompson agreed to talk on camera about four of his favorite fright flicks from four separate subgenres: Slashers, Body Horror, Sci-Fi, and Haunted House.
